In USA, California Wildfires Kill 40 People and Hundreds Still Missing


In USA, California wildfires reportedly killed 40 people and hundreds are missing after six days of wildfires that have devastated swathes of countryside and destroyed thousands of homes, news report said.

More than ten thousand firefighters are reportedly battling 16 remaining blazes and winds of up to 70kms per hour brought them to new town, forcing many more people to evacuate.

According to media news report, Governor Jerry Brown said on a visit to the city said that the devastation is unbelievable. It is the most lethal outbreak of wildfires in the state’s history. More than 100,000 people have been displaced and whole neighbourhoods have been reduced to ash, news report said.
